We invite applications for a non-tenure-track full-time Research Training Group Postdoctoral Scholar position in the Department of Statistics, at the University of California, Berkeley. The Research Training Group Postdoctoral Scholar position is a non-renewable three-year position. The Research Training Group Postdoctoral Scholar will be expected to engage in teaching and research and participate in seminars and lectures within the department. The expected start date is July 1, 2019 and the position has an annual salary of $65,065.

This position is partially supported by an NSF Research Training Group grant focused on Causality and Interpretability in Machine Learning. Please note that the teaching component of this position is conducted under the lecturer title. The primary research element is funded by the NSF grant in the postdoctoral scholar title.

Basic Qualifications (required by time of application): advanced degree or enrolled in an advanced degree program

Additional Qualifications (required by start date): PhD (or equivalent international degree) Preferred Qualifications: PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field

Applicants should document their experience in teaching Statistics, Data Science or a related field at the college level. We will consider strong candidates in any area of theoretical, applied, or computational statistics, or probability, with a particular interest in computational and interdisciplinary activities.
