Giving to the Statistics Department

Giving to the Statistics Department

Whether you are a Berkeley alumna or alumnus hoping to help out your alma mater, or are simply wondering how your support can make a difference, you have come to the right place. You can help ensure the department continues to be a leading Statistics program in the nation, meeting our mission of educating leaders, creating knowledge, and serving society.

There are many ways of making charitable contributions to our department.  Depending on the amount of the gift, desired frequency of your donations, and other personal preferences, we can find the best options for your gift.  If you would like to discuss your gift, please contact the department manager.

We have two primary funds.  Both are discretionary, allowing the department to use your generous support where it is needed the most. Donations to either fund can be made securely online on the Give to Berkeley site by clicking on the blue boxes below:

Friends of Statistics

This general fund supports our seminar series, upgrades to our instructional equipment and classrooms, annual funds to both the graduate and undergraduate student associations, professional development opportunities for our staff, among other things.

Statistics Graduate Student Support Fund

This discretionary graduate student fund was established to provide competitive support packages for graduate students so the department is able to continue to attract and retain the world's top talent. It is also used to provide travel grants and professional development opportunities for graduate students.
