Exceptional times of random processes, i.e., random times at which an event which has zero probability at a fixed time nevertheless occurs, are important objects of study in probability theory. A typical first goal is to identify the fractal dimension of such exceptional times; eg., the Hausdorff dimension of the zero set of Brownian motion is famously one-half almost surely.
