Long-range dependence has been statistically identified in internet traffic traces, and various probabilistic explanations for its appearance have been given. In this talk, we will survey what is known about queues that are fed by long-range dependent sources (with a principal focus on fractional Brownian motion as a stylized model of such traffic), and discuss several recent results.
