Yuval Benjamini and Bin Yu with their colleagues in the Gallant Lab (Neuroscience, Berkeley) have been working on using fMRI data to understand the effect of dynamic stimuli (e.g movies) on brain activity. They gained understanding of how certain parts of the brain represent information in movies and were also able to "reconstruct" movies that had been seen by using brain measurement data.
