The new Division of Computing, Data Science, and Society (CDSS) received an anonymous $252 million anchor gift for the construction of the Data Hub building. The Data Hub, on the site of the old Tolman building, will be the brick-and-mortar home of data science on campus. It will house the Department of Statistics, parts of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (EECS), the School of Information, the Data Science Commons, the Data Science Education Program, and the Berkeley Institute for Data Science (BIDS).
