The Presentation Ceremony was on Saturday, April 25th at the 152nd Annual Meeting of the National Academy of Sciences. New members are introduced to their colleagues in the Academy and sign the “Registry of Membership” in the NAS Building in Washington, DC.

Yu is a leading figure in statistics, its interface with machine learning and interdisciplinary research in very varied areas. Her contributions include fundamental results in empirical processes, information theory, and statistical machine learning as well modeling in image denoising, network tomography, audio coding, arctic cloud detection and neuroscience.
