Statistics is Recruiting an open rank position at the Assistant or Associate/Full Teaching Professor levels

The Department of Statistics in the College of Computing, Data Science, and Society (CDSS) at the University of California, Berkeley, seeks applicants for an open rank position at the Assistant or Associate/Full Teaching Professor levels. The position is formally titled Lecturer with Potential for Security of Employment (LPSOE), Lecturer with Security of Employment (LSOE), or Senior Lecturer with Security of Employment (Sr. LSOE) depending on qualifications and experience. Teaching Professors are full members of the academic senate and are eligible for Security of Employment, equivalent to tenure.

The faculty appointed to this position will participate in teaching and course development for the Data Science Major, an innovative group major offered by the EECS and Statistics faculty, with participation from colleagues across campus. As Berkeley’s first new college in more than 50 years, CDSS is in an exciting growth phase. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to actively shape its future through their participation in the college, including the potential formation of new interdisciplinary departments. This open-rank position (or a fraction thereof) may transfer to such a new unit, if and when established.
